Terms of Use
1. What FinSight AI is
FinSight AI is an educational information tool. It reads a bill or statement you upload, compares the document's own contents with a curated registry of published consumer-protection rules for the country you choose, and shows you observations, information about those rules, and editable message templates.
2. What FinSight AI is not
- It does not provide financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, tax advice, or debt advice, and nothing it shows is a personal recommendation.
- It does not act for you, contact providers for you, or negotiate on your behalf.
- It does not recommend debt solutions, insolvency procedures, borrowing, or stopping payments.
- Using it does not create a lawyer–client, adviser–client or fiduciary relationship.
3. Accuracy
Findings are generated by artificial intelligence and then checked automatically against your document: each quoted line must appear word-for-word, figures are recomputed, and references must exist in our registry. These checks reduce errors but cannot eliminate them. AI may misread a document, miss an issue, or describe a rule incompletely, and laws change. Check every finding against your original documents and the official source before relying on it. Labels such as "verified" describe the automated checks only; they do not mean that a provider has acted unlawfully or that you are owed money.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Upload only documents you are entitled to share. You may delete your account at any time from the account menu.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unlawful content, no attempts to bypass the paywall, security or rate limits, no automated scraping, and no use of templates to make statements you know to be false.
6. FinSight Plus subscription
- Creating an account is free. Running audits and opening negotiation toolkits requires a FinSight Plus subscription at [US$7.99] per month (local taxes may be added at checkout).
- Automatic renewal. The subscription renews every month and you are charged each period until you cancel. The price and renewal terms are shown before you pay.
- Cancel anytime from "Manage subscription" in your account menu. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access until then and are not charged again.
- Payments, receipts and invoices are handled by Stripe. FinSight AI never receives your full card details. If a renewal payment fails, access pauses until payment succeeds.
- Digital content and your right to cancel. Access starts immediately. Before checkout you are asked to consent to immediate supply and to acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel for the first period once access begins (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 37; EU Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m)). This does not affect your other statutory rights, for example if the service is faulty.
- If a technical fault prevents you from using the service, contact [support email] and we will fix it or refund you. [Counsel: confirm subscription-contract rules in each market, e.g. UK DMCC Act 2024 Part 4 Chapter 2 once in force, US state automatic-renewal laws.]
7. Intellectual property
You keep all rights in your documents. You may use and adapt the generated summaries and templates for your own personal purposes. The FinSight AI service, software and branding remain ours.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions you make based on educational information, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. [Counsel: adapt per jurisdiction.]
9. Changes, suspension and law
We may update these terms, and we will tell you about material changes. We may suspend accounts that breach them. These terms are governed by [governing law]; if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there. [Counsel: complete dispute resolution and ODR/ADR wording.]

Artificial intelligence and your documents
- Text and images from your document are sent over an encrypted connection to Google's Gemini API to transcribe and analyse them. We use Google's paid service tier, under which Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products. Google may retain data for a limited period to detect abuse and comply with law. [Counsel: confirm against the current Gemini API Terms / Vertex AI data-governance terms.]
- Before analysis we automatically mask payment card numbers, IBANs and US Social Security numbers found in a document's text, and we remove photo metadata such as GPS location.
- We never use your documents to train AI models, and we never sell or share your personal information for advertising.
- Decisions about your bills remain yours. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel Inc.: hosting and content delivery
- Upstash, Inc.: account storage (Redis)
- Google LLC: AI processing (Gemini API)
- Stripe: payments (independent controller for payment data)
Some of these providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or approved safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. [Counsel: confirm the DPAs and transfer mechanism for each provider.]
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the account menu. California residents have the rights in the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete and correct; we do not sell or share personal information. You may complain to your data-protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Contact [privacy email] to exercise your rights.
Security and children
We use TLS encryption in transit, scrypt password hashing, signed HttpOnly session cookies, AES-256-GCM encryption for paid content, and strict security headers. The service is not intended for anyone under 18.
Disclaimer
Educational information only. FinSight AI provides general information about bills and published consumer-protection rules. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax or debt advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
Regulatory status. [Company legal name] is not authorised or regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and does not carry on regulated activities such as advising on investments, debt counselling or debt adjusting. It is not registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser and does not provide investment advice. The service is not designed to provide any activity that requires a licence in any jurisdiction. [Counsel: confirm perimeter analysis for each launch market.]
Regulation summaries. Our summaries are simplified educational paraphrases of official sources, each linked to the publisher. They may be incomplete, may not reflect recent changes, and may not apply to your situation. The official text prevails.
Coverage. Country packs cover selected national and regional rules. For countries without a pack, FinSight AI shows only internationally recognised principles; check your national consumer authority.
